Pledge Signing | The University of The Highlands and Islands
On the 12th of October, The Scottish Goldsmiths Trust welcomed Christina Mackenzie, Course Leader of Jewellery at The University of The Highlands and Islands (UHI) Outer Hebrides to our Leith offices, to discuss and sign the Ethical Making Pledge.
The Ethical Making Pledge is a collaborative and community-based initiative for jewellery and silversmithing educational institutions. Signing the pledge signifies an institution’s commitment to implement ethical making practises into the curriculum, workshop practises and sourcing of materials.
We are delighted to announce, UHI Outer Hebrides as the latest Ethical Making Pledge signatories, where NC/HNC students will join us on their ethical making journey!
Thank you to Christina Mackenzie, for travelling to see us and for a delightful morning discussing and sharing the meaningful actions already taken, and to be taking on UHI’s ethical making journey. We look forward to seeing their future progress.
